Snowflake App Runtime projects use a single app.yml file to describe both deployment and the remote build. Include version: 2 at the top of the file. snow app setup writes this file for new projects.

Snowflake Native App with Snowpark Container Services now support Virtual Private Snowflake (VPS) on Amazon Web Services. Apps with containers can be distributed to Snowflake customers in VPS deployments. Apps running in VPS can use the functionality of Snowpark Container Services, including compute pools, services, jobs, and external access integrations.

Cloud capacity isn’t always guaranteed. When a compute pool’s instance type is unavailable, provisioning fails with an insufficient capacity error (ICE), leaving the pool unable to scale. Previously, resolving an ICE required manually switching the pool to a different instance type.
