Snowpark Container Services backup instance types (Public preview)

Cloud capacity isn’t always guaranteed. When a compute pool’s instance type is unavailable, provisioning fails with an insufficient capacity error (ICE), leaving the pool unable to scale. Previously, resolving an ICE required manually switching the pool to a different instance type.

Snowflake Native App with Snowpark Container Services now support Virtual Private Snowflake (VPS) on Amazon Web Services. Apps with containers can be distributed to Snowflake customers in VPS deployments. Apps running in VPS can use the functionality of Snowpark Container Services, including compute pools, services, jobs, and external access integrations.

Providers can share a whole directory of files and folders by declaring a workspace in the application package manifest. Remote app operations are now available in public preview for Snowflake Native Apps. Providers can perform on-demand operations on consumer apps, including running SQL statements ( run_sql ), retrying a failed upgrade ( retry_upgrade ), and disabling/enabling the app ( disable / enable ), all through a new system function SYSTEM$REMOTE_APP_OPERATION .
