Personal and service account keys act as a user or service account with the same permissions and stop working when that account leaves the organization. Admins can track usage per account, and keys can be scoped to one workspace or used on admin endpoints.

Claude SDKs stop sending beta headers for Files and Skills clients

Python 1.2.0, TypeScript 0.122.0, Go 1.68.0, Java 2.59.0, Ruby 1.67.0 and C# 12.44.0 make client.beta.files and client.beta.skills match the GA shapes. client.beta.skills.delete() now removes all versions, and BetaSkill is renamed BetaContainerSkill.

Claude Python SDK v1.0 moves to httpx2 and requires Python 3.10

The Python SDK v1.0 switches its HTTP layer to httpx2, an API-compatible httpx fork, requires Python 3.10 or later and removes long-deprecated surface including the legacy Text Completions API. Tracing or mocking libraries that patch httpx need httpx2.alias_httpx().

Claude Managed Agents can restrict domains for web_search and web_fetch

allowed_domains and blocked_domains on agent_toolset_20260401 configs limit which sites an agent's web tools can reach. web_fetch also accepts max_content_tokens and web_search accepts user_location, giving tighter control over agent browsing.

Files API is out of beta on the Claude API

/v1/files and Messages requests referencing uploaded files no longer need the files-api-2025-04-14 header. Headerless requests get file expiration via expires_in_seconds, page-based pagination and an ids[] filter; requests with the header keep working.
