Apache Iceberg™ tables: Partition evolution (General availability)

With this release, we're pleased to announce the general availability of partition evolution for Snowflake-managed Iceberg tables. You can now change a table's partition specification after you create the table by adding, dropping, or replacing partition fields, without rewriting existing data.

Include and exclude per-user quota users by name (General availability)

Per-user quotas now accept individual user names, so you can add or remove specific users alongside the quota's tag scope. INCLUDE_USERS is new and takes user names directly, and EXCLUDE_USERS accepts a 'USER' argument alongside its existing 'TAG' form:

Elastic Channels for Snowpipe Streaming (General availability)

Elastic Channels for Snowpipe Streaming are now generally available. Elastic Channels provide one implicit, server-scaled ingestion path per pipe, so concurrent producers can stream directly to Snowflake tables and supported Snowflake-managed Iceberg tables without managing channel names, lifecycle, ordering, or offset tokens.

Catalog-linked databases: Write support for nested namespaces

Catalog-linked databases now support creating and writing to tables in nested namespaces when the catalog-linked database uses a catalog integration for a catalog that supports nested namespaces. Previously, creating tables and writing to tables in nested namespaces wasn't supported for any remote catalog.
