Amazon EMR 7.14 is now available with new features across Amazon EMR on EC2, Amazon EMR on EKS, and Amazon EMR Serverless, along with version upgrades for additional applications. This release also upgrades Apache Spark to 3.5.8 and Apache Iceberg to 1.10.1.

The Shopify connector is now available in Lakeflow Connect in Beta . Workspace admins can control access to this feature from the Previews page. Claude API beta lets tools be defined inside mid-conversation system messages

With the inline-tools-2026-09-15 beta header, a tool_addition block can carry a full tool definition, so agents can add tools, change schemas or upgrade server tools mid-conversation without invalidating the prompt cache. The same header covers adding and removing tools by reference.
